Project management

Project description

Every day, the world loses the equivalent of 45,000 football fields of fertile soil. This alarming reality inspired us to create Symactiv. We envision a world where every inch of land is rich in biodiversity and thriving with life. To sustainably feed future generations, we developed a biostimulant made of biodegradable pellets infused with microorganisms. Instead of applying a one-size-fits-all solution, we customize our pellets to meet the specific needs of each soil type. so we foster a biodiverse ecosystem where plants can thrive. Our esteemed farmers use these pellets to rejuvenate their fields and enhance crop yields. Finally, Symactiv’ approach to agriculture aims to sequester 2 tons of CO2 per hectare annually once implemented!

Status/Results

Our method was developed during Philippe's Master Thesis at ZHAW, where we successfully completed our initial trials. These trials resulted in a 15% increase in both yields and water retention. Despite these promising results, further replication and testing are necessary. Therefore, we aim to achieve the same outcomes on 5 farmers' fields. Over the next months, we are going to develop and apply our prototype while sharpening our offering hand in hand with our mentors, customers, and partners.
