Founded on 27 February 1998 by Swiss entrepreneur Heinrich Gebert, for the past 25 years Gebert Rüf Stiftung has been supporting innovations with 15 million francs a year.
Of the total amount, more than CHF 258 million has been invested in 1,267 projects, while the foundation currently has assets of CHF 86 million. Overall, some 4,000 people have been awarded funding, 434 partnerships have been set up and 194 start-ups founded. The completed projects triggered additional resources of CHF 8.4 billion, corresponding to an efficiency factor of 43. An average of 98% of the foundation's annual expenditure is dedicated to funding.
In its anniversary year, it has placed its focus on the people who have made Switzerland more innovative with their support projects – in the spirit of its slogan “Discover, impact, encounter”.
