Description du projet

Today, we heat entire rooms and car interiors to keep people warm, but a far more energy-efficient approach would be to heat the air surrounding individuals—or even directly heat the people themselves. Existing product
heating solutions, such as those used in heated clothing, shoes, car seats, and furniture, rely on heating wires. However, wire-based heating mats have limited post-fabrication design flexibility, require a thick upholstery layer to evenly distribute heat, and suffer from heat loss through this layer, making them inefficient.
At qCella, we have developed an innovative alternative: a paper-thin, smooth, and flexible heating mat that provides fully homogeneous heating. These mats can be cut into any shape or size, offering unmatched customization. Thanks to their ultra-thin and smooth surface, they can be worn or positioned much closer to the human body without the need for additional upholstery. This reduces heat loss significantly, leading to a more
energy-efficient and effective heating solution.

Etat/résultats intermédiaires

During the InnoBooster project, we enhanced the scalability of qCella’s heating mats by optimizing material production, refining the heating mat design, and enabling manufacturing beyond lab scale. These advancements helped secure additional customer pilots and brought us closer to commercialization.
