Direction du projet

Description du projet

Climate change, population growth, and inadequate water management are compounding issues such as water shortages, pollution, and the decline of biodiversity. These problems not only affect ecosystems but also disrupt industries that rely on water, from agriculture to technology, where even data centers depend on water for cooling servers. However, current water management strategies are hampered by a critical lack of comprehensive, real- time data at the watershed level, making it difficult to respond to these growing challenges effectively. To address this, we have developed our pioneering Water Data Ecosystem (WDE). Our approach combines advanced Smart Sensors with powerful data analytics to provide a continuous, detailed picture of water quality and quantity across entire watersheds. Unlike existing technologies, which are often fixed, inflexible, and limited in scope, our WDE offers unmatched scalability and precision. By enabling industries and governments to understand water resources more effectively, we can reduce pollution, protect vital ecosystems, and help mitigate the financial risks of operating without clear insights in an increasingly unpredictable hydrological cycle. Our team is a multidisciplinary group of experts in hydrology, corporate water stewardship, and AI/data analytics, driven by a shared commitment to sustainable water management. With a paid pilot underway and our first WDE already deployed in Graubünden, we are already making significant strides in proving the effectiveness of our solution. Our goal is to transform how water resources are managed worldwide, making water usage more efficient and sustainable, ensuring that this precious resource is protected for future generations.

Etat/résultats intermédiaires

This project closes a critical gap in water management by providing scalable, cost-effective, and actionable local watershed insights, enabling companies to meet compliance requirements. By combining advanced Smart Sensors and data-driven insights, it addresses the limitations of current solutions, such as the reliance on manual sampling or global datasets, which fail to meet local precision needs.
By the first interim report, we expect to have developed hardware prototypes nearing TRL8, and deployed initial pilots to gather client feedback. By the final report, we aim to achieve TRL9, validate our solution through multiple pilots, and be market-ready.
The project will build on existing industry partnerships and the initiation of a project with another larger Swiss hydropower company. These partnerships will ensure real-world application and client-driven improvements to our product.
