Projektbeschreibung

Biodiversity is declining at an alarming rate, but only few people seem to care. We need citizens who are passionate about nature and are committed to preserving it. Only those who have a deep emotional connection to nature are motivated to protect it.
Bringing young people closer to nature in a playful and casual way is an approach to organically strengthen our bond to biodiversity. As a location-based adventure game with elements of a collectable card game, Anura-League seamlessly integrates real life nature in the vicinity of the player into its game mechanics. To progress in the game, users must go outside searching for species using AI image recognition. The players will collect resident species, create digital playing cards and challenge their friends.
In addition, players are empowered to enrich their balcony or garden’s biodiversity. Anura-League not only motivates but also helps them to care for their plants using gamification mechanics.
Anura-League is aimed at Generation Z, particularly 12 to 19-year-olds who live in urban areas and are not yet interested in biodiversity. It is designed to turn this tech-savvy generation into passionate advocates of nature conservation.

Stand/Resultate

Our current focus is on developing the software for our mobile game. By the end of the First Ventures Validate project, we want to have developed a solid prototype of the game, tested it with the user group and learned our lessons from it so that the development can move on to the crucial phase. In addition, we would like to initiate collaborative research in the field of citizen science. Furthermore, applying for additional funding will be an important part of our efforts.
