Existing shipping solutions in e-commerce generate excessive waste from filling materials and cardboard, much of which is either discarded or requires recycling. Additionally, oversized parcels take up unnecessary space during transport. SendMeBag addresses both issues by adjusting its volume to the contents of the package, eliminating the need for filling materials. The reusable packaging also saves time by simplifying the packing process, while reducing the environmental impact by 83% if used 10 times.
While the initial prototype was sensitive to shocks, our team has now developed a robust protective mechanism. This innovation allows us to replace disposable cardboard boxes with reusable shipping bags, ensuring that goods are safely transported without increasing waste. With ongoing pilot tests and positive feedback from industry partners, SendMeBag is positioned to make e-commerce logistics more sustainable and efficient.
Stand/Resultate
We have successfully developed and tested a functional prototype of the protection mechanism, allowing us to incorporate pilot feedback directly into the product development process. Over 500 shipping cycles have been completed with pilot partners, including both small and large retailers. These tests have provided critical insights that have helped us refine the business model and prepare for market entry in 2025.
Strategic partnerships have been established with Swiss Post, large fulfillment companies, and European manufacturers, ensuring scalable production and value creation within Europe. Additionally, an advisory board comprised of industry experts has been formed to guide the project towards successful market integration. The start-up SendMeBag is on track to revolutionize e-commerce logistics by offering a sustainable, reusable packaging solution that reduces waste and increases efficiency.
